Monaco from Nice, should I drive or is there a better alternative?
Both options have good and bad points. It’s a scenic drive and if it’s not peak season with heavy traffic it takes just over half an hour. Both options have good and bad points. It’s a scenic drive and if it’s not peak season with heavy traffic it takes just over half an hour. The toll on the A8 has a charge but if you drive along the corniche there’s no toll. Parking in Monaco is expensive and car parks difficult to find, also note driving is on the right. The speed limit is 50km/h or less in certain areas.
The train takes less than half an hour and there are many trains from early morning until about 10pm from Nice and 11pm from Monaco. The fare is cheap at around 8 euros for a single journey. It’s a short walk from the station to the city but a bus is also available.
I think the train is the easiest option.
